Our registration form requests a government ID number and a document upload, with Aadhaar listed as an option for Indian nationals. Aadhaar numbers and Aadhaar documents are treated by Indian law as sensitive identifiers, and collection or storage of Aadhaar numbers by private entities is restricted under the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016, unless the entity is authorized by UIDAI to do so. Where Aadhaar is submitted, we use it solely to verify identity for ashram visit access, we do not use it for authentication under the Aadhaar Act's e-KYC framework, and we encourage visitors who prefer not to submit Aadhaar to use a Passport or other National ID instead where accepted. We store uploaded ID documents in encrypted storage with restricted access and do not sell, rent, or use this data for marketing.
